This is a unique endoscopy course that focuses on an intensive hands-on experience, designed for gastroenterologists, surgical endoscopists, gastroenterology fellows, and GI nurses. State-of-the-art lectures by leaders in the Field, will cover techniques and cutting-edge advances in GI Endoscopy in both flexible endoscopic surgery and bariatric endoscopy.  Topics include primary obesity devices (balloons, sleeves, endoscopic plicating, endoscopic suturing), post-bariatric complications, endoscopic suturing, Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF), POEM, endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), full-thickness resection (FTR), GI bleeding, ERCP in the bariatric patient, therapeutic EUS, EndoHepatology, and more!

This 3-day event starts off with state-of-the-art lectures and hands-on demonstrations of new techniques and devices for bariatric endoscopy, followed by state-of-the-art lectures and hands-on demonstrations flexible endoscopic surgical techniques and devices, focusing heavily on third space procedures. Throughout each day we will have special simultaneous sessions highlighting Therapeutic EUS (Fri) and EndoHepatology (Sat). Additionally, during lunch we will have exciting live broadcasted cases from the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil.

Our last in person course was held in March 2019 and was a huge success!  We were oversubscribed for the didactic and hands-on stations, and had a good mix of Gastroenterologists (75%) and Surgeons (25%).  Course feedback was excellent and many participants returned to their home institutions and incorporated techniques highlighted at this event successfully in their clinical practices!  Since COVID, our platform has been virtual so we are excited to be back in person!

At the conclusion of this conference the participant should be able to determine indications and contraindications for advanced endoscopic procedures, describe the role of endoscopy in the management of the bariatric patient, and assess new technology in digestive disease management.

This Course is endorsed by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
